Location: The Willows Care Centre

Salary: £9.05 per hour.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Excelcare family at our caring, happy home The Willows Care Home, Great Linford, Milton Keynes.

What you can expect:

£9.05 per hour - 07.30am - 03.30pm - 4 Days a week. 

Working alternative weekends.

Key duties are:

  • Maintain excellent standards of hygiene
  • Assist the cook in the preparation and serving of meals for up to 80 people
  • Work as a team to agreed schedules for meal preparation
  • Respecting choice and preferences of the people we care for.
  • Check and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety issues, particularly in respect of Basic Food Hygiene, COSHH, safe moving and Handling and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection

Required Experience:

Applicants should have experience of preparing and cooking food and be able to demonstrate knowledge of health and safety issues as well as food hygiene in a residential or similar setting.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Flexible and enthusiastic

Good communication skills

Politeness at all times when dealing with the people we care for as well as colleagues, visitors and families.
