Interim Payroll Project Manager (£45 - £50k + Bonuses + Potential Extension of Contract to Permanent role)

Due to growth, we are looking to recruit a Payroll Project Manager to work as part of a proactive team, helping with the delivery and development of the function to ensure a high quality payroll service is delivered across the organisation.

To be successful in this position you will need experience in a similar role and have ideally worked with and helped a number of organisations with the switch over and the implementation of new payroll software, not only ensuring compliance but improving current processes whilst assuring high standards. You will also have excellent communication skills, strong UK Payroll legislation knowledge and experience of working on a number of payroll projects.

The Role

This role is focused around guaranteeing payroll efficiency whilst ensuring that compliance is met on all current payroll legislation, analysing and improving processes. You will be supporting colleagues with the management of end-to-end payroll processes whilst managing various employee pensions' schemes and reporting requirements.

Responsible for managing monthly / fortnightly payrolls for multisite for over 3,000 staff, whilst advising the business on payroll issues and communicating with all levels of staff and conducting consultations.

You will identify the right Payroll system, support and lead the Payroll team in the payroll implementation process. You will also be responsible for identify training needs across the business, working with managers to embed learning and contributing to their personal development

Skills and Experience

  • CIPP (Chartered Institute for Payroll Professionals) qualified (Essential)
  • Previous experience managing payroll functions (Essential)
  • Experience on Sage50 payroll (Essential)
  • Experience dealing with hourly paid employee payrolls (Essential)
  • In depth of knowledge of payroll activities (Essential)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Essential)
  • Excellent organisation skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrates a high level of drive and a tenacity to overcome obstacles (Essential)
  • Ability to motivate others (Essential)
  • Commercial and financial understanding (Desirable)
  • Expert in Payroll and implementations (Desirable)
