Health, Safety & Facilities Lead

We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager with Facilities Management experience to join a well-established care and nursing home company (33 homes). Our head office is in Bromley, Kent and our care homes are based throughout South London, Cambridge, Milton Keynes and Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented safety professional looking to make a difference.

As the Lead for Health, Safety and facilities management you will be reporting into the Quality Governance Manager for the network to make some key changes to enhance our H & S practice and embed those policies and practices throughout. The successful candidate will ideally be based in a location where you can easily access our regions i.e. the South East.

The role is extremely varied, giving you a certain amount of autonomy over your diary. You will be provided with the necessary tools to carry out the role to the highest standards across a diverse and exciting remit, no two days will be the same!

About you

  • Providing specialist advice and leadership to the board and senior team in order to implement safety change
  • Background in facilities management and maintenance of multi-site operations
  • Understanding of care home regulations and requirements including CQC requirements
  • Extensive Health and Safety Knowledge ideally with NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of COSHH
  • Experience of systems to support auditing and ability to present findings and make recommendation for improvement
  • Excellent record keeping and ability to negotiate with contractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to develop, implement and embed policies and procedures to enhance the functionality of the health and safety operation
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Good level of IT skills
